Privacy Policy
Plain-language summary of what Radu Physiatry collects, why, and the control you have — on the website and in the iPhone & Android apps.
Effective June 20, 2026
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Radu Physiatry website (including radu-physiatry.netlify.app and any custom domain) and to the Radu Physiatry applications for iPhone (iOS) and Android, which present the same site inside an app. "We," "us," and "Radu Physiatry" refer to the site's operator.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — if you create an account or sign in, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (handled by our authentication provider). Signing in is optional; much of the site works without an account.
- Community content — if you post in the Community or AI Debates areas, the content you submit, and the display name you choose, are stored and shown to other users.
Information created as you use the site
- Study activity & progress — your quiz answers, flashcard review state, and progress metrics. This is stored in your browser/device (local storage, keyed under radu_…) and, if you are signed in, synced to our database so it follows you across devices.
- Preferences — interface settings you choose.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data — like any website, our hosting provider records standard request logs (for example IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not build advertising profiles from this.
Optional connected services
- If you choose to sign in with Google or connect Google Drive (used to detect which reference texts are already in your library), we access only the basic profile or the minimal Drive metadata needed for that feature. We do not read or store the contents of your files.
How we use your information
- To provide the core features — board-review questions, flashcards, calculators, lectures, podcasts.
- To save and sync your study progress.
- To operate optional account, profile, and community features.
- To generate AI study notes and debates when you request them.
- To keep the service secure, debug problems, and improve the content.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your progress and preferences, and a session mechanism to keep you signed in. These are essential to how the tool works rather than advertising trackers. You can clear them at any time from your browser/app settings (this also clears locally-saved progress).
Third-party services we rely on
We use a small set of reputable providers ("processors") to run the service. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Authentication & database — stores accounts and synced progress/community content.
- Hosting / content delivery — serves the site and apps and keeps standard server logs.
- AI providers — when you use AI Notes or AI Debates, the prompts and generated text may be processed by third-party AI APIs to produce the output.
- Media hosting — for podcast and lecture audio/video.
- Google Fonts — for typography.
- Amazon — "Find on Amazon" links on the Resources page are ordinary affiliate search links. They open Amazon in a new tab; we do not share your identity with Amazon, though Amazon's own policy applies once you're on their site.
The iPhone & Android apps
The mobile apps are a wrapper around this same website. They do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and they request no special device permissions beyond internet access. Account and progress data behave exactly as described above. On iPhone, "Sign in with Apple" may be offered alongside other sign-in options; if used, Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real address, which is fine.
Your choices & rights
- Use without an account — browse and study without signing in; progress stays on your device.
- Access, correct, or delete — you can request a copy of your account data, corrections, or deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (below).
- Clear local data — clearing your browser/app storage removes locally-saved progress.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights such as access, deletion, and objection. We honor these requests.
Children
Radu Physiatry is a professional medical-education tool intended for licensed physicians and trainees. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Security & retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted connections and hashed passwords) to protect your information, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Medical disclaimer
All content is for education and board preparation only. It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose or treat any patient. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the ABPMR or AAPM&R. Always rely on primary sources and clinical judgment for patient care.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll revise the "Effective" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
